Our servers utilize a very simple method to prevent common virus infections related to email attachments. A program called RenAttach checks every incoming email attachment against a list of known "OK" file types. If the attachment is not one of the types on the list, the program simply renames the attachment so that your email progam cannot auto-run a virus. RenAttach renames file in the following format: If you receive a file that has been renamed, and you are sure that it is a file that you were expecting, you can simply save the file to your computer, rename the file to it's original name, and you will be able to open it normally. |
