This service is available on POP email accounts & Aliases where your web site is hosted on the Tools for Organizations server. This service is automatically active on every address, you do not need to change any settings on your local computer.

Our servers utilize a very simple method to prevent common virus infections related to email attachments. A program called RenAttach checks every incoming email attachment against a list of known "OK" file types. If the attachment is not one of the types on the list, the program simply renames the attachment so that your email progam cannot auto-run a virus. RenAttach renames file in the following format:
filename.exe => filename_exe.BAD
You will still get the attachment, but it is in effect, turned off and cannot infect your computer. If you have a virus program on your computer, such as Norton, it may still check the attachments, and give you a virus warning anyway.

If you receive a file that has been renamed, and you are sure that it is a file that you were expecting, you can simply save the file to your computer, rename the file to it's original name, and you will be able to open it normally.
